MotoGP Estoril - Where to stay
As per title, looking for recommendations on accomodation in and around the area (anything from camping to 5* hotels as long as it's good).

We are thinking of travelling down by train (UK - France, overnight train from France to Lisbon) arriving on 13th of September. We'll probably stay until at least the Monday (so 4 nights) in the area but have 2 weeks to do a bit of travelling/relaxing. The main issue for the moment is trying to find somewhere to stay before everything gets booked up so any recommendations for hotels would be much appreciated! Any other ideas for towns, beaches, bars would also be helpful. One available hotel that had come up when looking around was Pestana Cascais... anyone been there?

Baz, I'd go for a hotel in Cascais town centre (don't know which - look on a map and perhaps avoid the ones by the main road and rail line). You can get a taxi to the track for not much money (€10-ish?), and it's a nice place to walk around for a day or two, loads of bars, together with an easy (and picturesque) rail link to Lisbon. Not sure if I like Estoril town centre (if it has one??), and anything else may be pretty but limited.
If you come by train to Lisbon, you'll arrive at Santa Apolonia station. You either make the short link across town to Cais do Sodre station to take you out to Cascais, or if you're knackered and feeling flush, you could get a taxi straight to Cascais - maybe €40-ish.
See if Janspeed has other suggestions for hotels there - I've never stayed in one

There are quite a few hotels, and the prices can vary quite a bit.
If you want to be near the sea ( I guess they all are) there a few real nice ones;
In Cascais there is the "Estalagem do Farol" which is an Art deco type hotel, and has a Club on the same property called Nuts which is quite ok to hang out at, especially as it is in front of the sea. In fact the hotel guests have free access, and usually the big race after-parties are done there.
There is the "Muchaxo" at Guincho beach, very nice beach front hotel and relatively close to Cascais.
Then there is another hotel right next to it "Estalagem do Guincho" or "Forte" I think, it has ***** and has won loads of cuisine prizes over the last years too.
Hotel Baia in the town centre, sea front.
There is one next to it which is said to be excellent, dunno the name.
Anyway I think a Google search might help.
There are more in Estoril too, but their names escape me at the moment.
If there anything needed just say so.
