MoneySavingExpert: Consumer Revenge - Credit Cards, Shopping, Bank Charges, Cheap Flights and more

Friend of mine at work had over £3K of bank charges over the 6 year period. They offered her £750 as "full and final settlement." She's just written a letter to tell them to get stuffed.

As for Credit Card charges, most of those have been reduced to the recognised acceptable fee of £12. So you would only get the difference anyway.

Do you think you can still recalim from the banks even tho you have closed the account and moved to another bank? Also if you have paid off your credit card and closed the account think you could claim back from them too?

Legally they can't charge you more than £12 so you are able to claim these back.

I just wrote to MINT to claim back £12 apparently with them cash takes 4 days to clear. What rot.

5t.

Even if I do get a late payment charge on my credit card I never end up paying it.

Just ring them, explain you was only a day or two late, etc. If that don't work inform them your business is going elsewhere. Usually they waive it at that point
