Question

I recently installed Norton SystemWorks onto a PC running Windows 98SE. Now whenever I start it up I get an error message saying "Long filename backup - Bad command line format" with an "OK" button.

I don't get an indication of a system error using System Doctor.

So, first question is: is this a problem? Second question, how do I fix it (f it is a problem)or stop the pesky error message popping up (if it isn't)?

Any help gratefully received.

Uninstall Norton, reboot and see if the problem goes away.

If it DOESN'T go away:
Consult someone who is more technical than you to sort it.

If it DID go away:
Have a look on Norton's website, and see if there's anything mentioned in their support section for this product, that describes the problem (and solution) like you're getting - it may be common.
