Which networks lock their Pay as you go mobiles
Need to get a phone quickly as I'm leaving for australia this afternoon- I need to be able to use it with both my World sim and my australian voda sim.
Thus it needs to be unlocked.
Which networks don't sim-lock their pay as you go's?
Thanks

I think it's only Orange and 3 but I've never had a tmobile/virgin mobile.
You will be OK with O2 though for sure
Having said that most independant retailers can unlock them for about £10

Thought that was the case, thanks for confirming it. Unless anyone has any info to the contrary I'll be on my way to the carphone whorehouse

Although that seems to be increasingly hard these days with the newer phones. It's never a pleasant experience watching you brand new phone being ripped apart and having pins cut on transistors etc by a dodgy looking Chinese man.

Might be a bit late but I unlocked my SE W810i yesterday using Davinciteam.com - SonyEricsson, DB2020, DB2010, Unlock / Flash software. I reflashed my phone with the latest generic W810i firmware from SE - rather than the network branded (and locked) firmware that was on it before.
It costs £7.99 per licence key to reflash a phone, and takes 5 mins if you have a PC and a data cable - just SE phones though...

All handsets from Carphone warehouse are unlocked, they just put the SIM in for whichever network you go for. I got mine from there and stuck works Orange SIM in no problem.

Iwan - great site, but am a bit behind the times with this unlocking business. I guess this is why a non Vodafone SIM I bought in India wouldnt work in my Vodafone [contract] handset, but a SIM from PAYG Vodafone in Greece does?
Can I get Vodafone to unlock the phone for a fee? If not I'll keep trawling that site until they list the P990 and waiting for its warranty to expire!
Thx
