Recommend me a hotel in Geneva
Taking the wife to Geneva for a couple of days fun and relaxation in the summer, just plodding through the net and wondered if there are any good recommendations out there.
Cheers

What's your budget?
Have used the Ibis in Geneva in the past. We were very happy with it.
Can recommend getting the train to Montreux and then walking along the edge of lake to the Chateau de Chilllon.
Had a great meal at a restaurant called Le Pied de Cochon (The Pig's Trotters) in the old town.

Coming over for the motor show? See my other post.
Plenty of hotels charging silly prices, cheaper to stay across the border in France and drive in. But, if you want to stayin the centre: Geneva Hotels. Geneva Switzerland Hotel Accommodation Discounts for Reservation
The Paquis area has the infamous Rue de Berne (red light district) so anything on that street is probably best avoided.

Sorry, just re-read your post. Summer is it? A good plan would be to aim for the Fete de Geneve (Geneva Festival) in August. The firework display on the closing night is a must-see as teams from several countries try to out-do each other with spectacular displays. The fun fair is enormous as well. The Noga Hilton is right on the edge of the lake and will give you tremendous views -- if you plan to come for the Fete de Geneve it might already be booked out on the upper floors (usually by wealthy Arabs).
