Default DVLA / private reg question?

If I go to a local DVLA office and remove a private reg from a car over the counter, do they issue you with a new Reg Certificate (V5C) and Tax Disc there and then?

I would imagine they would have to, as you can't get new reg plates nowadays without a V5C certificate.

Anybody know for sure?

Craig.

Last time i did it you got your new tax disc there and then along with a dvla note stating your entitled to go and get new plates made.
Log book followed after a couple of weeks.

They don't do it over the counter anymore. Turnaround in 5 days.
