OK, it's time Beckham was honoured with something, but sport personality of the year?

Can't believe Richard Burns wasn't even a contender...but Tim Henman was

Now I'm not saying it was a fix or anything but as Michael Owen scored a hat-trick against the Germans surely he should have won...

What a disappointment

Sports Personality of the Year has severely gone downhill and presenting the award to Beckham just shows what a joke it is

Sports Personality has never been about "personality" - For goodness sake they gave it to Nigel Mansell !

Personally I have no problem with David Beckham winning it. In the recent England games (with the exception of the Germany Game) he has looked like the only who worked out he was playing for his country and that a little bit of effort might be in order.

Read a very scathing artcile over the weekend about how the full vote is never revealed. Would have been nice to see the first English WR Champion win it but hardly that undeserved for the England Footie Captain.

Talking

Thought the Clarkson bit was excellent. And Miss SWRTWannabe had a laugh at Burnsie's fashion - she didn't say anything until the shot of him all in black... with white shoes

Funniest bit was the preview of the big events that will be covered on BBC Sport next year - not an engine in sight!!!

A parting shot before two weeks in the sun
Beckham thoroughly deserved the hounour, what a transformation since France 98, hated by the majority of retarded football supporters, having a wife who publicly embarasses you once a week, the guy is not the brightest, but what great character to pull yourself through all that ****, as mentioned above if it wasnt for him we wouldnt have qualified for the world cup, he has been simply awesome for England since he was made captain, and the knuckle scraping morons who slagged him off made death threats are all saying what a different class player he is now and how england cant do without him, its a funny old game

BIG UP THE BECKS
Without him and Owen and the ever improving Gerrard England would be nothing, just remember that as you get up at 06.00 next June to watch England you could have been patriotically supporting the Rep of Ireland because we failed to qualify as has happened before, cant see the Scots cheering us on somehow can you.

There are too many Victoria Beckhams in this world, know F*ck all about football but cant stop opening their mouths and talking b0llocks.

At least he doesnt bleat on and on like a certain ginger haired quality rally driver who isnt in the same league as Mcrae.
No need for flame suit as i will be roasting on a beach in 24 hours time, ha ha
Merry Christmas to you all

Didn't Steve Davis win it once... personality???????

I'd have given it to Ellen McArthur... she achieved soemthing amazing, and did a lot fo good for the public profile of her sport.
