Default Disposable income

I am just wondering what sort of disposable income people have and what is deemed to be an acceptable amount, after all bills, food and petrol etc.

Cheers

£600 a month minimum outgoing, £0.00 income. I think I'm in trouble. Saying that it's still less than the depreciation of some cars.

"An acceptable amount" to me would be enough to have a few nights out, buy some new toys now and then and enjoy some nice holidays/ weekends away. If you are just working to pay the bills and have nothing much left over then what's the point?

I'd think for a decent quality of life, you'd want over £1200 a month after all bills have been paid.

No I don't live in that crime infested hell hole.

I still think if you want holidays, meals out, weekends away then you need a good bit of cash free each month.

The 1200 would also have to cover car maintenance and insurance and things for the house etc as well as nice stuff.

I pay a monthly sum into my joint account with my partner and I can do what I want with the remainder. I'm usually left with around £650 which funds 'fun fuel' for the scooby, nights out, personal expenditure, etc, etc. I get by ok on this

After all the DD's are paid me and the Mrs have about £1200 for food, petrol, going out etc. Always seem to be skint half way through the month. Fingers crossed the Mrs's bonus in March will be a good one and a she'll get a good payrise. If so, we are just about to knock 10 years from our mortgage by increasing the payment by £400 a month

I usually go for about £600 per month in a seperate account just to use for nights out/meals which I find does quite nicely for me. I wouldn't like to live on much less. anything on top of that is only really for toys so not really needed.

£1200 a month would probably let you have a holiday every month out of that. I get by on about £600 a month on my own.

I do go to the the 'ring about once a month from April-October, but in reality it doesn't work like that.

A good example came today when I got a call from our plumber to say our central heating is up the spout......£400 please. Need to get my commuter car serviced inc cam belt this month £500 please.

1000 pounds a month after mortgage and all other bills are paid on average. Sometimes higher if I take on more work, but thats the figure I work towards each month

In theory, plenty. In reality - skint!

Get 1800 in and only pay out 600 but never seem to have any cash but also nowt to show for it! Not like i'm out on the sauce all the time either!

After we've paid the butler, the chauffer, the cook and the gardner, there's barely enough for a decent racehorse....
