France & Germany seem to be running Europe these days.
So the French say "Fcukoff" to Germany. So Germany (with French backing no doubt) plan to make 100's of British workers redundant. Great.
No doubt they'll get there way too. Our Government will do Fcukall to stop this.
We are America's lap dogs, and it seems that Europe tell us to roll over too.
We once practically ruled the world. Maybe we should start telling other countries to get stuffed. If they don't like it, tuff.
France should remember if it wasn't for us, there would be no France.
Germany should remember they have what they have because of us. Maybe we should have ruled Germany after the war, like Russia ruled east Germany.

I sincerely hope that our aircraft industry survives all this trouble with Airbus. Looks like we stand to lose 1500 jobs which is bad enough but nothing like in the same league as France and Germany. No wonder they are trying to change all that.
Our industry has a great history of real achievement behind it with so many innovations over the years. We told the Americans how to get their tailplane to control the Bell X1 when Chuck Yeager was trying to break the sound barrier. We had already designed an aircraft which would have broken the sound barrier but which was cancelled by a minister after he had visited the USA! The aerodynamic information on our aircraft was then passed to the Americans. We did the ground breaking research into vertical take-off aircraft and made it succeed, we discovered how to get a slender delta to provide the increased coefficient of lift for landing to mention just a few.
It would be a travesty if it went to the wall.

I think everthing that is bad about the institution of "Europe" - bureaucracy, incompetence, management by committee etc is shown in the management of Airbus.
They could have gained a significant upper hand over Boeng but it appears that they will let that slip and allow Boeing to gain it's significant lead in the future.

Britain has failed to invest in the carbon composite technology to be used in the next generation of aircraft
Serves us right..
As usual we are sat on our *** instead of being at the cutting edge.
