Default Salesforce.com? Any users here?

Or users of similar CRM/Sales systems that are web based?

I would be interested in views as to how small it economically scales.

Cheers,

Rannoch

We use Micro$oft CRM in our small office

MS have taken quite a keen interest in our setup as I believe we are the first to have over 40,000 product lines in it

It works ok, and is all web based, links with Outlook I believe and other things, like the phone system, so when a customer phones up it can log the call details straight into CRM

doubt it is cheap tho

How big is the team?

37signals are working on something. It will probably be very easy to use and quite cheap, but quite simple too.

It is a very small company and the attraction is that SF.com scales down to one user.

The company will have users in the US, Canada, Turks & Caicos and UK. Probably only one or two users in each location.

Everything else is just too expensive.

A webby offered to put a basic package together for $8,000 plus $150 a month. We could use SF.com for a long time for that money and it is all there from day one!

Thanks for your comments guys,

R

One of the guys I occasionally do some weekend work for, has just setup a linux based version web based and MySQL too, as it is for his wife's own business that she has just setup so needs to be cheap/free

I don't know what it is called but I can find out if you want

We use MS@work because we a certified partner so we are allowed to setup systems, but it isn't cheap as said previously, but we are only a small company too, with about 35 staff

Try Sugar CRM - freeware

We're currently trying out MS Dynamics CRM - absolutely great bit of kit !!

I'd recommend trying them all. Sugar is downloadable free and Dynamics CRM can be downloaded and used as a 60 day trial from the MS website.

cheers

Actually vtiger (which forked from SugarCRM) is truly open source and works very well. SugarCRM charge for their add-ons such as outlook and MS word integration where vtiger is completely open source. vtiger

Also MS CRM is hosted in Outlook and is not web based so you might struggle with your collaboration requirements. Only other one that you might consider is Sage CRM MME which used to be Accpac CRM, thats web based, I think you have to buy seats in lots of 5 and if I remember we bought it at about £700 per seat and £700 for the server but there were no other costs. Me I would go vtiger as everything else Ive seen doesnt really add much functionality wise anyway.

We use MS CRM & Outlook, MS CRM is web based, and Outlook uses RPC over HHTPS for out in the field

As I sadi earlier, MS are watching us very closely on what we do with CRM
