Very nice

I'm guessing this was not from Ikea, MFI, Wicks, Homebase etc

We went for gloss white, and I kind of wish we'd added a colour to one side....oh well.

Looks good Deep. Are the units German?

You could do with a kitchen roll holder though. Got a "Typhoon" one for a tenner from John Lewis when we were over at Christmas. Tidys things up a bit.

Having the brick fireplaces ripped out at the moment and to be replaced with reproduction period Edwardian jobs to fit in with the rest of the house.

The handles on the units are a liability - just the right height and profile to slice a kid's eye open.

Ouch, good point - easily changed though.

I'd want more work surface than that I think, but the appliances look very smart.

Not a bad point about the handles. Our son is three months old, when he's a bit older we can always change the handles.

Work surface area is fine, there is 0.5m either side of the hob, and the glass shelf acts as additional surface ie you can put trays/bowls of semi prepared ingredients on it. You also can't see additional work surface next to the sink. You can just see it in one of the pics where you see the old tv perched.

Waiting for the dining table to be delivered in the next few weeks so we can eat there. Also flat screen to replace old crt.

Its made by a company called Hacker Systemat.

Sorry about the terse way my comment must have sounded - the kitchen's very nice other than that. I remember when our Frank started toddling; we had to sellotape pads to the corners of everything.

Didn't do a very good job of fitting an Edwardian kitchen though.

Tis very nice though and that fireplace sucks...
