track racing days, any suggestions
Hi, my wife has kindly offered to pay for me to go on a track day driving different types of cars, porsches, aston martin, ferraris etc. She has seen some at the silverstone circuit. Just a little dubious as I know with some of these days you dont get much time in the car, or they only let you take it up to so many revs or such a speed.
Can any one recommend anywhere they have been and what you get for your money. Based in essex so didnt want to go too far if I could help it.
Thanks in advance.....Rich

I think most of the circuits have track days as you describe. I can't recommend any particular one, my sister did her racing licence test at Silverstone and said that was ok. I should look it up on the net for all the tracks which are nearest to you.

Go for one that lets you have Caterhams. Unlikely to restrict the car, will be happy for you to thrash a £20k car purpose built car (unlikely to let you abuse a £100k car) and FAR more fun than astons/porsches/ferraris etc.

Bedford Autodrome do some great days - the top package is around £800, but it is a full 8 / 9 hours. Have a look at Trackdays.co.uk - I've got a voucher with them to use (leaving present from my last firm). Rockingham are also doing some good driving days too.
