Yep. As a work tool its excellent and something I'd not want to sacrifice. Finally, with the 8700 they've made one that can be used realistically as a phone but my experiences of the Pearl are non-existent other than to say that it appears to be more of a phone than a Blackberry, losing some of the functionality of the keyboard and other Blackberry features.

Agreed - chap at work just ordered a Pearl to replace his (personal) Blackberry. Pearl has a camera on it, but is more "phone like" in that you lose the full spread keyboard & back to a standard phone keypad.
I have an 8700 and wouldn't be without it, even if it does encourage you to respond to emails well outside working hours!

I support the BES and the devices, and I think they are brilliant devices.
Reliable, good battery life and easy to support........what more does man need.

i've had a pearl for a few days and although it's a bit early to say for definate, it seems ok.
the UI is easy, the trackball accurate but not sure how robust it is, main thing is that the signal and battery are reported as being ok in my company. we've just decided that the pearl is the standard handset from now on.

In Nov merged having an nokia and a standard blackberry to a blackberry pearl.
Over a good move - couple of minor things ... does not work with my tom tom one and also the media player does not support standard video files.
Plus I have just had my replaced because of call lag - but overall I would recommend.
Even better being able to get personal email accounts on as well as corporate

We use BB here. My personal one was an 8700g until I blagged a RIM Pearl demo out of our account manager to try out (read into that it is a demo or maybe a beta so not a retail product).
Took 3 days to work out the keyboard but once it clicked, I just type as I would on the 8700 and check afterwards for accuracy, which is 98% as it learns your style and words. Easy enough to correct. Voice dialing works sometimes if you dont mind American pronunciation.
Worthwhile IMHO

I heard about that tag for them and it made me a bit reticent. However in the event SN is way more addictive .
I use my BB when travelling or to when at home to quickly check my work emails without the hassle of having to log in to the VPN and it is just great . I don't need a phone facility as I don't want to be on call again.

I have a work one- I need a payrise for all the extra out of hours work I do reading emails
As said- do exactly what they say they do. I like the way it learns your words and the calender sync. Qwerty keypad was weird to start with but totally natural.
Loads of the camera ones at work- peeps all seem happy with them although I have to say brickbreaker is easier with a thumbwheel
