a 'glock' 22 or 23 mainly
due to the fact when the mag is removed, even with one round in the breach (chamber) it cannot be fired.
therefore it can be readied in an instant and is a very accurate weapon but without the mag its useless.
hope that helps

Most of them I've seen have carried Glocks- but I would also far rather have the Sig (P229.. I like the little frame, no that does not make me a girl!!). Saying that I can still shoot better with a Browning than many can with a Glock/Sig, and my shooting doesn't improve greatly with a Sig.
Desert Eagle is one of the most pointless weapons I've ever seen.
As I heard a US Army Colonel say once - "pistols only any good for fighting you to a real weapon". Amen.

Sisters bf was a sniper for many years and used this little (or in fact rather large) beauty...
Not had much handgun experience myself but fired 1000s of rounds from the SA80 and the LMG version in APWTs.
Rather miss those days.

British police use either the Glock or Sig.The sig is considered the Rolls Royce of handguns and is particlarly well made . The glock is cheaper and has a reputation for reliability and has 3 safety features built in ,Hence it has no actual safety catch. It cannot be fired without puling the trigger properly. The magazine plays no part in this. The Glock is the harder gun to shoot as you need to master the trigger in particular .The Met use Glocks as they buy so many. In an armed policing role the pistol is your back up though as the primary weapon will be some sort of rifle/carbine -currently an Mp5 or G36.

Bubble: cheers for that...to many here just get their facts from the latest Bruce Willis film.
And yes, I do reccon the Goverment was more interested in a long term "DEAL" with Glock (Still works and kills,so it ok) And I reccon they offered a better deal than SIg

Or maybe the Cops just wanted the same gun as CSI
