Default Flying - whats allowed in hand luggage these days?

Im flying tomorrow - Ryanair in the morning France to Stanstead, Easyjet in the afternoon Luton to Aberdeen...GRRRRReat.

Anyway, both website are pretty vague about whats allowable in the cabin at the moment. The usual about gels and liquids, but no specific mention of electrical stuff. I have a laptop and GPS thingy to take and dont fancy packing it in my checked bags.

BA are no charging £120.00 per extra bag to be placed in the hold. Even if your 2 bags etc are under the weight limit !!

I loved BA , but they have gone mad. Watch all the airlines start adding on 'extras" to the basic ticket costs.

No probs; I travel with mobile, psp, laptop (and chargers for all three) with no problems.

Link to a pdf for exactly what you can and can't be taking.

Laptop will have to come out of your bag for seperate screening but no real restriction on electrical items any more.

Easyjet

easyJet.com - Baggage

Pretty clear i'd say. Your laptop could be classed as one piece of hand baggage though.

Ryanair -

Ryanair.com - CHEAP FLIGHTS - Fly Cheaper, Car hire, Hotels, Travel Insurance

Also very clear but they now charge for every piece of checked baggage. No free allowance.

Seamaster, I work for BA and agree with you. It's cost saving gone too far and is all in preperation for the move to Terminal 5 where the majority of the baggage will be automated and travelling in individual containers at high speed around the terminal. Can't fathom the logic of charging that much though - it is putting off a lot of customers.

Easyjet i'm a big fan of, good service and cheap prices. Ryanair I refuse to use, you are not a passenger you are a Euro nothing more, nothing less in their eyes....

I've flown with RyanAir quite a bit recently out of Stanstead, and I've never had any problems with them. Their staff seem friendly enough and if you get priority boarding (a little extra or check in early) you don't need to be subject to the rush at the gate to get a decent seat
