Sorry m8 - but if you don't know agree with him to go to an Omega dealer.
One of my things is Glycine Airman watches. There is a forum that discusses and shows some fakes. People on there have a hard time trying to tell the difference.
There are obvious things but some fakes nowadays on the more common makes are impossible to spot unless the movement can be seen & examined by an expert.

Unless of course it say OMIGA JAMES BUND 006

Price depends on age/size/condition of watch.
If you are looking for a good second hand watch, the watch forums are good. You can get references about people etc. Once you start buying its hard to stop though.

I think he means the James Bond special Omega did a few years ago to celebrate a Bond movie. I didn't fancy the Bond version so got a standard one instead.

"Not a chance in hell " Most fakes used ORIGINAL faces (Fact as Ive seen the factory with my own eyes. ) The "007" specials are just about the most stupid watch to buy. 80% + seem to be fake. Also do you know which is the official one?? because most guys dont.

as a investment ? I would say forget it, stay with a classic Omega.

But if unsure??? PM me and I can introduce you to someone who will take care of you.

I've absolutely no idea if its genuine or not as its a picture I got of the internet after googleing "JAMES BOND" and "SEAMASTER". I can remember the launch a few years ago as it was at the same time as I was looking for mine. I must admit, I thought the original James Bond watches had OO7 going through the face and not the gun barrel design I posted above. Mine is a standard original from Omega with all the relevant paperwork.

Craig.

Found it!!

This is the one I remember from a few years ago, the one with 007 going through the face. I've never seen the gun barrel design before.

Tudor are not a poor mans Rolex. Its a "rolex" for those who dont need to apy extra for branding. In fact I reccon they have far more class. but still not as classic as a Old seamaster pro !

That is realy old. The top fake watches you can buy (tourist places sell grade 2 and 3 fakes. Difficult to find the very best) are excellent. many are bought to use for repairs by crooked repair places. (trust me) Links pins winders the lot cost big money . Omega are in the Dark ages when it comes to getting spares . so many use or offer grade one fakes.

IMO Rolex (OK, if you are fat, hairy chested and wear gold chains), Tag and Omega are all commodity/trendy pretentious brands and have no real class at all.

I'd wear a Seiko over any of those three. But first choice would be a real watch like a Zenith, A Lange & Sohne, Jaeger Lecoultre, IWC etc

An Omega isn't a real watch? Why did NASA select them for the Apollo space missions then? They used ordinary Speedmaster pros from a jeweller in Texas, and they worked... because they are high quality machines.

People love to say that Rolex and Omega are for tossers... I agree that there's a big brand premium on Rolex and some Omega, but that doesn't make them bad. Too bling for me, as a rule, but I'd be happy to own a 70s Datejust or Moon watch.

Agreed, or a Vacheron. Personally I like Panerai, and although many of you will say that they are oversized fashionable tat, I quite like them.

I am not a fan of the current Omega line up. I think they have made the watches too big..

But older Omegas have alot of respect and class. Same as pre70's Rolexes.

IWC tend to be a "BlinG" (the latest ones) I like the classics and the Porsche Range they did some time ago.

Jaeger, VC etc are Ultra quality. But lange/sohne are again far to "bling"

And if you want to talk about the quality of fakes? then you realy need to worry when Buying a patek ,Vacheron or Jaeger.. I am shocked at the stories I hear.

The most up and coming brand I reccon for medium money is Tissot.

Lange/Sohne are very discreet and extremely desirable, wouldn't say bling at all.

Agree with the fakes - I've heard of cases where they have watches valued at several hundred thousand pounds or more that are impossible for experts (including the manufacturers) to tell if they are fake.

This would be a better watch than an Omega (as well as holding it's value better as they are valued by horologists)
