Hello, I'm a new member on the forum and need some help!!

Just got my STI8 2 weeks ago and have just been done for speeding this morning, 64mph in a 50mph, £60 fine and 3 points.......

What I need to know is, what is the best speed camera decetor to buy and how much does it cost?

Thanks in advance

Whatever you buy to detect the hand held guns by the time its bleeped to warn you it will be too late to slow down anyway....

I've got a origin B2 and it works well, though you do have update it which is £50 a year (unlimited updates).

Dont use it so I can speed just there as a reminder incase I've creeped over abit.

scientists have proven that no one has ever died because of speed its the abrupt stoping that gets most people (that said i do not condone speeding in inapropriat places)

Why spend a few hundred quid on a detector when you can just drive along, look at the red circles with the numbers in and make sure you stick to them?

If you weren`t speeding in the first place you wouldn`t be needing one. More cash on top of your £60 fine
Seriously though, this may teach you a lesson. Once bitten. . . . . . .
All IMO

i've got an Origin b2 and it is very good.the laser detector does work but it does depend on where on the car the laser is aiming at.mine has gone off approching talivan's before but not every time.another plus point is that it's very small and discreet,it is also easily removed and put in a pocket for when you park anywhere

seems sometime by the way its put across that people are wanting a detector so they can speed along safe in the knowledge it will warn them in time to slow down. We have all sped along and I rekon the best deterant must be the right foot and a knowledge of the road you are driving along.

Who buys an Impreza to drive at the spped limit everywhere? Those that do should buy somthing else. I bought the car to drive at speeds I determine appropriate for the road (probably same as the guy who started the thread) - nothing wrong with arming yourself with something to remind you.

To answer the question this thread was about - I would buy the Road Angel Navigator 6000 from Halfords for 170 (if I needed Sat Nav) otherwise the Road Angel Compact. I have test driven a Snooper Indigo and it picked up a mobile site near my house, not sure the Road Angels do mobile sites, but this was 330!

before it seriously gets outta hand with the slagging off, I think I can say everyone speeds at 1 time or another if your totally honest. Yes theres a time and a place but we dont always follow that rule and it also depends on all the other things like road conditions, amount of traffic, the weather an time of day.
All this guy is asking is for advice so that he can 'hopefully' use it so that he doesnt speed unneccessarily
I have a Snopper with a RLD attachment for talivans, yes I speed but I also think I take into consideration all the things I have listed and I always give room enough to stop in an emergency unlike some of the tossers on the road these days Be safe.

The best speed detector is supplied by SUBARU.

Its called a SPEEDOMETER ........ this amazing device tells you how fast you are going, it even OVER-ESTIMATES to help you out.

Use this device with working EYES and a working BRAIN and you can avoid ALL speeding tickets ..... if your brain doesn't work then you will be unable to use the device ... and should have licence removed.

To those PRATTS above who state that you HAVE to drive like a ******* if you own an Impreza are below contempt ......

Stop speeding and stop the speeding fines - carry on speeding and you WILL be removed from the roads

The best way to avoid speeding points, is to bee-have!!

Although i know thats not always practical,

but i don't trust road angels, the mobile camera van has seen you before you have chance to react, but they are ok for static cameras, but you got to be a plonker if you don't see them coming!!

No matter how clever you may think you are if you have one, they won't tell you when mr traffic cop is hiding around the corner!

Don't hold me to this but I think all mobile sites have to be advertised - therefore the databases should have them. If you look at Thames Valley Police website there is a link to speed cameras and you can see all fixed and mobile sites on a map.
This wont help you if a copper is following you while blatting along but at least the cameras should be on there.

PS. Forget detectors - useless! Jammers however....if you have a electric garage door obviously...

PPS. Anyone else moaning about speeding shoud f**k off and join the Driving Miss Daisy forum.

I agree ............... the only people who come on here moaning about speeding are those speeders who have been, quite rightly, caught!!

I personally think that the Road Angels are a bit naff and are for the Max Power brigade in their Nova's and Corsa's,if you obey the speed limits then you will have no problems and your license will remain clean, there is a time and place for speed and that is on the track, that will show the men from the boys.
