Yeah but what percentage of the Wax you buy is real Carnauba Wax? Pure Carnauba is expensive as hell so waxes that boast Carnauba only have a percentage of the real McCoy mixed through

I know this - but the percentage affects the quality of the wax. Its more than trace elements: For example Zymol Vintage 61% Brazilian White Carnauba wax and costs near £1500 a tub!! It's not even their most expensive stuff!!

rude wax designed to get you noticed

Carnauba (Copernicia prunifera)
ARECACEAE, Palm Family
Carnauba wax is the coating on the surface of the leaf, i.e., cuticle. Leaves of this fan palm are removed individually from the tree, cut and shredded, and then dried, so that wax flakes off. A pound of carnauba wax is obtained from about 20 leaves. This powder is melted, strained, and then molded into blocks, to be shipped to manufacturing countries.ARECACEAE, Palm Family
There are a thousand and one uses for carnauba wax, but you are most likely to hear about it as the principal ingredient in fine car polishes, even applied as a spray at the car wash. Carnauba is also important for the best furniture polishes, as for hardwood floors, but can be found as coating on dental floss, disposible cups and plates, even lipstick.

i now use a "cheap wax" at work, i don't think price reflects in a product like some people do, i was spending money on ****e like meguires, which if i`m honest leaves a nice finish, no doubts, but it lasts 2 weeks and its gone, the new stuff i use, and i actually use this on my own car as well, costs me 0.75p a tin from the cash and carry, its not the easiest stuff to use, especially on dark cars, but it lasts for months.
my regulars have all commented on the longer lasting finish as well, without any input from me, jobs a good un

For a quid a pot I can see this been good It'll be like polishing with compound paste and 400grit wet&dry.
I use Harlys Carnauba Wax, good stuff and it lasts a bit longer than 2 weeks. I've tried all the usual cleaning products and have been using Meguairs for a while now, I agree with stickymicky it does have a good finish but doesn't last long at all on cars used everyday.
Gonna try Smart Wax next, apparently really good stuff just hard to find a retailer at the moment.
