Dealing with txt spk on other forums
As a personal hate of mine and evidence of the decling standards of the country in general, it was nice to see this stickied on another forum I frequent, can we have the same in here please?
Just to remind people that they are most likely using a computer of some sort to access and post on Audi-Sport.net...so in front of you it's most likely you will see a full QWERTY keyboard.
That's the thing with all the keys on, that your fingers prod one at a time!
Since this is a full English language keyboard, you have no excuse for posting 'txt' talk.
If you can't be arsed writing things out, why should any of the other users bother replying?
On a related subject, please try to use basic (heaven knows, it needs to be for some people!) punctuation and grammar.
It helps other users understand what you are asking / talking about.
This is not a lesson in English language, spelling or grammar...but please try your best.
Audi-Sport's standards have slipped slightly of late...and this will hopefully help raise the standards.
If you want to txt talk like a Muppet...there are plenty of 'Cruiser' forums out there that will communicate with you in your chosen sub-language.
Try it here...and you'll be treated like a Chav...so don't be surprised if you receive comments along those lines.

I agree,
Call me prudish, but if i have to read it more than once to understand then i will not bother. Complete lazy *****.
Don't even think there is excuse for it on a moblie. It's no quicker than speaking in normal English.
Any one who does it on a BBS should be immediately banned with no explanation.

I tend to abbreviate when texting, only because I'm too tight to break to send 2 messages though
I went to my nephews open day at school a while ago though, and the standard of some of the work on the walls was scary even memos from the teachers had spelling mistakes

Totally agree with you Hank. Can't stand text speak and refuse to reply to anyone who uses '1' instead of writing the word 'one' (for example). Lazy gits...makes them looks as retarded as they most likely are.
