Apparently Climate Change is really happening because....
... Parakeets have been spotted in Abington Park in Northampton. LOL!
Nothing to do with people letting them out in the 1950s then?
A spokesman from the council said, "The park workers are aware that there are half a dozen parakeets in the park. They are not native to the UK, but have apparently acclimatised quite well to our weather."

It actually says in the article:
"They are very unusual in Northampton as they have tended to settle further south, typically in Devon, so the ones in the park are most likely to be escaped pets. "
So I don't think anyone is saying they have migrated here due to climate change.

"Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 the Ring-necked Parakeet is on Schedule 9 as an animal which may not be released into or grown in the wild, so these parakeets are breaking the law."

Neither did I, but it's nice and sunny today - obviously it's the fault of climate change as the sun NEVER shines on the first day in February!

Also on the BBC news website yesterday was a story about how we have just had the second warmest January since records began (avg 6.5 c)
When do you think the warmest was? Last year? A few years ago maybe, during this incredible warming we have been having?
No, 1916, and 7.5c!!!!!!!
Fancy that eh?
Geezer

Just typical of the cr@p that ends on on the front of the local rags, makes a change from claiming direct links to national stories when the only connection is that x or y traveld thought Northamptonshire on a train in 1992.

Got married 4 years ago in Weybridge (Surrey). Beautiful but cold day - large flock of parakeets flying about the grounds when we had photos.... no global warming that say - it was about -3!
Oh, and just on the subject of the 'computer models' that are the cuase of all the predictions, here is a snippet from "Climate Change 2001: Working Group I: The Scientific Basis" from the IPCC who are the climate change gods as far as politicians are concerned. Go see Climate Change 2001: The Scientific Basis where it says, amongst other things " ... Large differences in the response of different models to the same forcing. These differences, which are often greater than the difference in response in the same model with and without aerosol effects, highlight the large uncertainties in climate change prediction and the need to quantify uncertainty and reduce it through better observational data sets and model improvement ... ".
I see the " large uncertainties in climate change prediction " and see that they're talking out of their ***** to justify extra tax (and thus control) from us.

That is why a lot of the "warming" hype is media toss!
It is made to scare you, it is not as bad as it sounds.
There are cycles that this planet goes through that we do not have a clue about.
Are you telling me that some "Professor/Scientist" who has to show that he is worth all those £££££ of "studies" is worried that it gets out of hand in the media?
NO! You know why? Because They are going to get even more moeny to do more silly studies!
That....that's what I tink!

Been listening to radio 1 all day and they have been banging on about global warming being ALL our fault all fookin day they never actually bothered to put forward any evidence though supporting this claim.
this crap off rhe radio 1 website
The earth is warming up. We're going to have more floods, more disease, fewer polar bears. The only humans left that haven't been wiped out by an apocalyptic series of disasters will be crammed together on an island of ice in the Arctic. If we don't do something about global warming in the next 4 years WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!

Sounds like the "Cold War" (no pun intended!) when we all goin to die everyday thanks to the "reds"!
Gimme a break, between Al-quaida/qaeda/kaida (or whatever those dumbass journalists think it is), the bid flu, and every non-european being a terrorist, and the so called global warming I am suprised people have time to work and feed their children!
It is a cause for concern, but this is ridiculous!

Kind of losing the point here....
We never had passenger jets, and the amount of cars we have today.
Yet....yet......it was the hottest January ever.

There is a very large number of parakeets flying around the Surrey areas of Walton on Thames, Weybridge, and Hampton Court. They have been around for a few years now since some were released in to the wild. Noisy little devils too!
