Paypal Question
In all the time I've had a paypal account, I have never had any trouble - until now!
Sold a few magazines to someone under 2 separate usernames (but is the same person), and either paypal or the buyer have opened a dispute and won't release the funds. I can't understand it!
Anyone know what's going on?

have you sent the item?? if not ask the buyer to release the funds and you will send them and not before. sounds like he's trying to say he's never recieved the item.

I had something similar, just with a misunderstanding with an email address....
Paypal became involved and it became a full on pain in the ****, took ages to sort out. My advice would be tpo try and get a phone number, you can do this through ebay, just have their username and item No to hand. you both then get an emither with each others details.

Well, I've emailed the buyer anyway and also told Paypal to CALL ME RIGHT AWAY ABOUT THIS MATTER!!! But no doubt they won't.
It's the first problem I've ever had! I was just about to send them as well. Just as well I checked my Paypal account.

Ive had a Paypal account for 6 and half years and never had much bother with a 1000 or so buyers.
Within the past month Ive had 2 people say they've not received their items, and despite me quoting on the auction page the buyer takes responsibility if they dont take insurance, both have opened disputes, both have had their money refunded, which p1sses me right off as I cant prove its been sent as they chose regular 1st class.
Ive now added on all my auctions that "Insurance is mandatory on all auctions when paying via Paypal"
Clare, it sounds like they have opened a dispute, perhaps saying they have not received the item(s), thus Paypal will freeze that money in your account. Unless you can prove they have received the items, Paypal will refund the buyer. It sucks, we pay paypal all their fees........they side with the buyer, who in my case was clearly dishonest with lots of negative feedback.
From now on its, PAY BY PAYPAL = YOU TAKE INSURANCE

I hadn't even sent the goods as I hadn't received payment.
So they can say they haven't received them because I haven't even sent them!
As a side note, I used to always force people to take insurance, I don't know why I stopped!

Paypal shafted me after siding with a buyer with dubious feedback, and DESPITE the fact he had left + feedback. and left me with negative funds in my account, they even passed on the debt to a debt collection agency
I rang the debt collection agency and told them to F##k off and have heard nothing for 3 months now. should I be expecting to receive a court summons or something along those lines?

PayPal and Ebay are total scum. complete monopoly and they abuse it somethinf awful taking fees off you at every stage. Wonder why they are fighting a court battle against Google Pay to prevent them being forced to let the competition in!
