nice for what Tony

Live about 10miles away, like lots of others on the board. Also have our head office in Slough but have to admit never really go there, and never go into Slough for shopping , drinking or nights out.

There's lots of villages close by for proprties or local pubs. Nights out and shopping i would say Reading , Windsor or London

always made sure the scoob was locked away in the garage when i visited as soon as i arrived, and left there until i came back home

Remember Slough is on the Heathrow flight path, so you may want to call the Heathrow Noise Office, and get them to help you with "quiet" areas.

0800 344 844

DON'T trust your estate agent to tell you, they try all sorts of tricks and cons to get you to buy.

Best bit is the road outward bound and the bad bit is the inward bound road.
Stopped there for a week on a training course and it was terrible.

The whole of Slough is a filthy cess-pit - I had the misfortune of working there for one day a couple of years back and it was awful.

Make sure you take sat-nav with you, as if you get lost finding an English-speaking person to give you directions will be impossible.

Wow, it's really nice to what all the people who DON'T leave here have to say....

There are nice areas and there are bad areas just like everywhere else in this country. As I actually live here and am not affraid to admit it I will be more than welcome to offer you some advice that is actually of some use.

TonyBurns if you wanna PM me I'm chat to you about the area without the destructive critism of others

Guess that is supposed to say estate agent. The firm of estate agents I used to work for shut the Slough office, probably tells the OP all he needs to know.

Maybe the estate agents were crap at selling houses....

House prices in this area have risen a lot mainly, because of the trading estate and access routes to London and other key areas of the country, if houses prices are rising, it means they are desirable, if houses are desirable it means anyone and thier dog could sell one.

I assume, you are pointing out my spelling mistakes in a form of jest, but just to be on the safe side, I will now spell check and proof read all my posts.

And yes is the answer to your question, my Primary, middle and grammar schools were all in Slough, I went to college to in Windsor which is still in a slough postcode, so that must suck too.

However there are no Universities worth mentioning in Slough, so my time spent in the "slough education system" stops there.

Maybe in the last 6-7 years but I'm talking about the early 90's, not so easy then.

Getting back to the OP, have a look around Slough, get the local papers & see whats going on in different areas.
