Assume you mean first picture, the arm like thing on the left side of the picture, if so then I think it's actually the tire shredding itself, if you look at the front wheel you'll see the rim sans tire

yep, it let go at 288mph and when it flipped his head hit the grass at 222mph and it dug a trench!!!!!!
