No,each bank has its own rate. However unless you have a fortune i dont think the small difference is worth keep moving it around.I used to do that but got bored. Now with the Halifax.

No.

If you want the best rate (that isnt an inductory offer) then national savings are offering 5.80% AER (will almost certainly rise to 6.05% in Feb or March when interest rates rise again)

On the same subject Halifax websaver is 5% without cash card and 4.5% with. It pays to look carefully at the fine print of each account. I'm sure there are people in lower rate accounts without realising it.

That is crap. What difference does it make to them whether it's a brand new £3,000 or last years and the year before's £3,000.

Thats the only problem - you cant transfer into it

But you can transfer your exisiting ISA into someone elses account and open an ISA with NSI - you dont have to have it all in the same account. Im looking at moving my existing ISA to Kent BS (5.65%) and stick 3k in NSI in April.

Then you have to transfer it peicemeal and then the rates may change. Only £132 on 24k. Just not worth the bother imo. Even if you could transfer the whole lot,i'm not sure i would.

(into NSI i mean)
