Caught by the LAW!
Hi,
Got caught by the 'Polizei' on Friday afternoon, doing 146 Km/h in a 90 Km/h zone......
The cop car was stopped right after the 90 Km/h sign (which was just after the 100Km/h sign!) on the shoulder. The road in question has 3 (three) wide lanes and no traffic, and as stupid as it might seem I was moving away from a tailgating muppet in a Beemer and was losing speed and moving over to the right slow lane (Portugal).
The Police were very polite, and we ended up trading jokes and having a small laugh, even though I had to pay a €120 fine on the spot and might lose my license for 1 month and up to 12 months......but since this was the first time in more than 10 years since I have taken my license I might be pardoned and have a probationary status applied to my license!
A few years ago this would have been a piece of cake, nowadays it's getting right fascist in the south of Europe!
Anyone had similar problems with the law lately, other than getting cuffed to the steeringwheel?

A few, the cops have a whole bunch of them.
Our Scooby Club has a bunch of members in and around Lisbon.
The cops use a lot of Nissans as Radar 'sites' on the highways, mostly on the hard shoulders.
The Scooby's are used as chase cars, and they are modded, that I know cause I know a couple of people down at the main garage used by the Law.
They tend to bust a few engines every now and then.....

Exact same thing, even down to the speed, happened to me some years ago.
Followed a load of cars along the N9 near Millau, all stuck behind a Dutch catravan doing no more than 37mph
Came to a bit of dual carriageway, NO-ONE went!
So I dropped into third, floored it, passed the lot, and was waved in as I passed the 90kph sign at the end of the dual section, and told I had been caught at 146kph. The rest hadn't gone as they'd spotted the radar trap
French police took me to the nearest bank, where I extracted 1200 Francs**, which they then extracted from me

Car was a Mk11 Astra GTE 16V.

Had a bit of "get your own back" situation at the copshop.
French copper spoke not one word of English, so I primed my 9 year-old lad, and he set about taking the office to bits, emptying drawers, pulling posters down, running round like a lunatic, etc. The copper shouted at him, and me, but I made out we didn't understand. Two other coppers came in and sat him down, but they couldn't sit there too long, and as soon as they went, he started again. By the time I'd got my paperwork, the office looked like a bomb hat hit it
The copper was very obviously glad to see us go!
