I wonder how long it will be before they start charging you for advertising your cars in classifieds...
Chris, you still hacking up the Hertfordshire?
Did you ever do that disc for me?

Me too - a not inconsiderable sum I suspect, given the popularity of the site, the existing advertising revenues, the brand value and the relative high incomes of many of the members, given that it started as a sports car site with TVRs etc
Fitz - of course mate. Er yes, I'll do that disk for you!

'Ted' will still be heavily involved so I think it won't change too much.
He has worked really hard on the site and it is great reading/viewing.
p.s. I hope Haymarket does not push its mags, as they should know that most of us are loyal Evo readers.

Ted has worked very hard and for very little reward in the early days. I remember speaking to him when he was thinking of jacking it in, bet he's glad he carried on now He won't need to worry about where the next pie is comming from for the foreseeable future.

Pistonheads is brilliant, total respect to Ted for what he's made it, its got to be one of the biggest motoring websites around!!
It will be a shame if the big wigs at Haymarket spoil it for the current members by adding subscription fees etc, its one of reasons it is so popular and as Ted says, that will kill the site overnight.
Ted may be still around but at the end of it, they own it and will do whatever they want, whether its a good idea or not, they will do what they think will make money. Sometimes its not about the money, Pistonheads was a definition of this.

Maybe someone would like to buy scoobynet and make the owners here similarly rich?
Only joking I can't see much money to be had out of the idiots that populate this place (my good self and a few others excepted of course).
I also hope Pistonheads 'keeps it real' as I enjoy posting there more than any other car site on the web.

You'd be surprised. Most members of Scoobynet are financially astute, have their own properties with small mortgages, and are debt free with most of them buying their cars with cash etc
