They say football is a revolutionary thing as one team dominates for X number of years, then the next.

In this case, would you agree its now time for Man Utd to hand the crown over to Leeds or back to Liverpool ?

Formulae: Championship success is inversely proportional to the number of Frenchmen in your team. (Chelsea, Arsenal anyone?)

Can't say I'm sorry that Man U's decade of domination is drawing to a close. The club has got too arrogant though I like some of the players.

I'm waiting for Southampton's decade to come - not holding my breath mind you!

Hehe, Lawrie Mac was/is a good friend.

Do you listen to his show on Talk Sport - really good. Nice to hear someone talking who KNOWS about football.

Lawrie will always be a great hero of ours, for obvious reasons. apart from being a good manger who knows what he was talking about he is a real character too. He ended up leaving after a big scrap in the dressing room with half the first team after a match apparently!

I hope Liverpool win the league, old Houllier is in the mould of the great 'Pool mangers, Shankly, Paisley...and I reember as a kid their great European nights, the whole coountry would get behind them in the way you never could Man United for some reason.

Anyone think Bartez could have done better on the 3rd goal? Went about an inch past him.

Blanc should be collecting his pension by now.

(groan)

we've (Newcastle Utd) just drawn, AGAIN!, in London, against Charlton. Shearer sent off, which I'm sure you're all gutted about.

So glad to see Man Utd have lost.

Helps ease the pain of Villa losing at home to f*****g Leicester.

BTW, here are the teams Man Utd have now lost to:

Bolton,
Liverpool,
Arsenal,
Newcastle and
Chelsea.

Notice anyhting interesting, something along the lines of the capital letters spelling the name of a certain Utd defender. Heh, Heh!

Cheers,
Tom

Cool

I'd love it if Hearts went down and won the Premiership!

Will just have to settle with them winning the Scottish title this
year (aye right!! )

Support Man U, but I'm a bit of a lightweight fan cos I also like Leeds. It would be good to see them do it this season. Mind you, they could do with a bit more aggression

Dazv,

Not to fussed about the Worthless Cup . To be honest I want them to win the league. Just too inconsistent. Hey ho..... But if we win the next few matches against some tuff opposition we could just do it. They need to make sure they turn draws into wins tho. Seem to settle for draws to easily.

ScooBabe, I took it very unbelievably seriously. Normally I'd take things like that with a pinch of salt, but for some reason I took it majorly seriously.

Come to think of it, nah, I didn't. I perceived it to be the ranting of a mad woman.

An absolutely cracking result (and performance) yesterday, and at Leeds in the week. Easily Chelsea's best game of the season which so far has been way below par especially at home (I should know having sat through eight of the most boring games in living memory ). Perhaps all this just goes to show how far Man Utd have slipped if they let an under-performing Chelsea trounce them. Shame

scooby555,

Name me a top club that doesn't fall into that criteria - you can't. The whole game these days revolves around that fact.

If you ain't got a stadium thats pulling in at least 35,000 people, or a wealthy benefactor, or if you ain't got a turnover of £50m, etc...you will NOT win The Premiership.

Long gone are the days when Ipswich could win the League - no offence to any Ipswich fans, but the best clubs of that ilk can wish for is a European place - TO GENERATE MONEY FOR NEXT YEARS CAMPAIGN.

I'd just like to point out that Blackburn are one of the only 3 teams to have won the premiership, have drawn with Man U. Arsenal and Liverpool so far this season, stuffed West Ham 7-1 , through to the quarters of the Worthless cup (worthless unless it's your only way into Europe) and generally looked like being 'on the up' .......................

...........then we let Middlesborough beat us at home , pfffff.
