Mobile Phone Contract Cancellation
Right then start the year with a numpty question!
Can you cancel a mobile phone contract mid-term? (I'm 12 months into a 18month contract). Do you need to do it in writing or just phone up?
I've been with Orange for 8 years so I've not done this before!
The reason I ask all this is that Orange aren't being helpful with regard to an upgrade and so I want to move to someone else, keep my number, and get the phone I want. However, I also want all the details so that I know what my options are when I phone them for one final rant to see if they'll play ball!
TIA and Happy New Year,
Ian

Just phone them up and say you want to leave.
You WILL however be liable for the remaining line rental on the contract, eg 6 months at £45 = £270 + £14 ish for your pac code.
They wont give you the pac code, until you settle your bill, so expect a final bill to be a whopper

This is what I've done with Orange before. Should still work.
Of course the other way is to ask to speak the the Customer Retentions department. They'll take it up the wrong 'un to keep you a customer.
