The Life Of Brian
Should the Pythons reform and make a new film - the Life Of Allahn, where the lead character - an ordinary troll called 'Alan Pastor' - is portrayed as a simple and misunderstood Muslim with no interest in becoming a 'prophet'.
How do you think that would go down?

I think Python should get back together regardless
but I doubt they would be allowed to make a film like that these days

We were just discussing this. I think fundamentalism is one of the greatest threats facing the world today - both Christian and Islamic - and that another Life Of Brian needs doing.
It would have to be the Pythons that did it, though. No other team could be trusted to get to the nub of what makes fundamentalism - and the unwillingness or inability to think for oneself - so ludicrous and funny, yet so terrifying.
Do we really want them to spend the rest of their lives in a concrete bunker, though?

"Yeah. So, next time you go on about the 'bloody Romans', don't forget you're one of them. "
"I'm not a Roman, Mum, and I never will be! I'm a Kike! A Yid! A Hebe! A Hook-nose! I'm Kosher, Mum! I'm a Red Sea Pedestrian, and proud of it! "
LMAO

At the end of the scene above, Brian's mother walks away from him and over to the seated Roman in the background. The Roman stands up as she approaches, she goes straight down onto her knees

Absolute classic I know most of it by heart, but there are always new funny bits I've missed
Made today, with a Muslim Brian? No, no, no! Fookin hell no If the Python team knew what they were doing in 1970-odd, it would never have been made then either!
But it doesn't need any remake or update. It says everything you ever need to know about religion, and political division, then, now and in the future. Very, very funny, but completely bonkers. End of story.
Being serious for a moment, it is a very sad commentary on our world
Richard.

It is even more relevant now than when it was released and every bit as funny.

Kevin Smith has made mention of Dogma 2 (see here) and that if made it could well touch on Islam, but they are a little more touchy than the Catholics were when he released Dogma.
