Default Carbon Monoxide Detectors

I've just been watching the harrowing item on the news this evening where the father of the two children killed by a leaking boiler in Corfu recalls the events of that night. It's set my mind thinking that in addition to smoke detectors, we really should have a carbon monoxide detector as well. Can anybody make any recomendations? I know nothing of these devices.

I got one which plugs in to the mains and has an alarm like a smoke detector, think I'll be taking it on holiday with me after seeing that

Thanks Dazza & eldu. IMHO, they should be mandatory in every home (and hotel chalet).
