Wireless House Alarms
Guys
Looking to put one of these in my new house, had a response before and had no problems.
So wondered if anyone had any advice on maybe a better unit.. I have looked at the latest response unit £200 for a decent starter kit and also the powermax plus
Powermax Plus
anyone got any good/bad experiences with these or any others I should consider.
I dont want to go down the wired route as the house hasnt been decorated long (not by me), but dont fancy all the mess etc..
cheers
James

What mess??, a decent company should go in and come out without you even noticing. Clearly going to be more than a DIY fit. We have a mix of PIR and wirefree sensors so gone are the old days of cabling going everywhere.

Hi,
I got a BT home monitor some time a go, you can get them for about 60 quid now, which comes with one door sensor and two PIRs i think, all wireless.
Easy installation and usage, get the sensors cheap off ebay, first 3 months monitoring free then fiver a month, bargain...
worth a look

Ive got a wireless Response alarm which I bought off ebay for £100. Price in B&Q was about £280. Unit was like new and was very easy to fit and has worked faultlessly since.

We fit mainly wired as said, if fitted properly you won't know we've been
We do where needs must fit hybrid systems parted wired part wireless and if totally wireless is a must we use Dominal stuff which is great.
Only dealings i ever get with the response stuff over the last 18 years is ripping it out although i'm sure there are some out there working ok i just never see em

I recently fitted a system based on this stuff:
Infinite Wirefree Alarms
Very easy to fit - though I did get someone to fit the bellbox on the outside wall.
It's all modular, so you can start with a basic system, then add further sensors, fire alarms, GSM diallers, and even X10 home automation.

Checked out our system last night, 3 wired in PIRs, several wirefree door contacts, 14 wirefree window shock sensors, 2 bell boxes with 2 control panels - took 2 days to install, you wouldnt know it had been installed and cost about £1k all in. I would always get decent hardware and get it professional installed (do you need it installed professionally for nacoss approval??) but each to their own.
