Default 42" Plasma wont turn on

Got a 42" Hitachi Plasma (1 year old)
Went out leaving it on standby, came home & no little red light, and will not now turn on/off with the button on the TV.
Changed the fuse in the plug, no joy, dead as a dodo.

Any ideas before I call on my warranty?

have you got a surge protector on the socket its plugged too? weather has been pretty wild lately....might have blown the psu or an internal fuse.

Cheers, nothing I can do tonight then I guess. Tried other wall sockets, no joy, so its deffo the set thats the problem.
Its covered on an extended guarentee so will have to slum it with the 32" for now - that looks tiny compared to the 42" !!

There's usually a fuse behind the switch on the TV.... Could be that.

That's due to it being 10" smaller...

Oh really, I didn't know that - not sure if its easy to get to usually?

If so I could try changing it & see if that fixes it - just been onto the warranty people & they need to take it away, so could do without that hassle.

Check that the fuse you swapped over actually works..... test it in a bedside lamp plug first.....

Yep can do - although the new fuse I put in was a brand new one in an unopened pack, but assumption is the mother of all **** ups !

I am tempted to try changing the power lead, it looks exactly the same as our PC one - so was gonna swap them over & see - but knowing me while looking the same they are completely different & I will end up blowing the house up !!
