Long Drive!

Long Drive!
Hi guys,
I have the oppertunity to fly to Faro (Portugal) and pick up a car and drive back via a ferry leaving Bordeaux to plymouth at no cost to me. Just wondered what sort of drive this is and the time scales involved! sounds intresting but bearing in mind I have never driven outside the UK a little bit daunting. Just wondered what your thoughts were and what the roads are like etc!
Cheers

You could do Faro to Santander in 12 hours or so. It's an easy, picturesque but long drive.
The roads are awesome, empty, very little speeding enforcement and cheap fuel. Also plenty of places to stop on the way.
I've done the drive from France to Portugal many times as I have a property in the Algarve and always chose to drive rather than fly as I enjoyed it so much.
PM me if you have any specific questions you need answering.

I take it you know the people arranging this VERY well, dont drive a car especially through a border for a mates mate.
Dont think this applies in this situation but just in case.

You also have the option of staying in some great places on the journey.
