Used to go there for a couple of weeks each year with my last job, exhibiting at the show ground there.
The night life is pretty good there, lots of pubs and clubs in the centre, not sure what there is to do during the day as was working. Is a nice place though I liked it over there.

To be honest you`d be better off getting on the train and visiting Berlin. It`s only a couple of hours away, German trains are cheapish, quick and, rather unsurprisingly, on time.
Failing that, Wolfsburg is only an hour away, the Autostadt is pretty good for killing a couple of hours.
