I'm sometimes confused as to whether its ignorance or complete lack of driving experience

Shoot them ...........
Sadly, they don't really want to **** everyone off - they just don't see it ....
Speeders and those using Mobile Phones while driving are the ones who are aware of being ****** ...... so, they need culling .....

Like many other minor offences, the penalty if caught is so inconsequential that the flagrant disregard for it is pretty much universal. I'd like to see zero tollerance and severe penalties, even though the offences are quite trivial. Lane-hoggers, tail-gaters, misuse of lighting (fogs ), smoking (I know it's not illegal, but it bloody should be), mobile phone use, seatbelts etc all should carry an immediate first offence penaly of 100 quid, and any further subsequent infringement should be 500, on the 5th recurrance ban them for 6 months. That'd make 'em think twice I also think we should reverse the policy on cameras and get more traffic officers out there with the power to insist that examples of bad driving result in several further compulsory hours of professional tuition and a retest.

They get on my ****.
In one selfish act, they reduce a motorway capable of handling lots of traffic doing different speeds into a turgid piece of dual-carriageway. I think it's down to a number of things:
- Ignorance - never been told otherwise
- Laziness - can't be bothered to move out of the way
- Selfish - "I paid my road tax, I'm not a lorry so I shall stay in the middle lane"
If you've ever driven in Germany, you'll get an appreciation of how bad we drive on motorways over here. I listened to this bloke at some social gathering a while ago actually say, "If you're doing between 40 and 50, you go in the slow lane, if you're doing between 50 and 60 you go in the middle lane and if you're doing 60 to 70, you stay in the fast lane".
Tw@t!

I do that, after giving a fair dose of:
Right Mirror FULL BEAM,
Left Mirror FULL BEAM,
Rear View FULL BEAM
Repeat as often as can be arsed
So far this year - without fail the middle lane hoggers have been made up of:
Doddery old Ba5tadS
Ethnic sorts wearing Jodrell bank glasses
Toothless Gimps
Rover Drivers
Considering a set of Bull Bars. Or a VERY powerful lamp - come to think of it I do have a 4 million candle power hand held search light which I could employ.
Is use of photons illegal ??

If you look at my user name , you will know not to get me started on this subject , like said before by Mark Miwurdz ,the driving standard in Germany seems to be a lot more disciplined ,any time i've been over there and coming up to road works and the signs showed a lane out of use ahead,as soon as they see the signs they move over regardless of whats in front and theres none of this mentality of having to cut people up at the last minute or to get in front of the lorry at all costs(who cares if he's in 44 tonnes of steel and cant stop like a sports car).

if the motorways empty then I overtake them, moving to the inside lane, then let them overtake.
then I overtake them, moving to the inside lane, then let them overtake.

usually, by this point the message has been gotten

Cant see the problem as long as they are sticking to the limits there should be no reason why anyone would have to over take then, Unless the other person is speeding of course then they can move to the outside lane cant they It would be one long **** off cue of traffic if everyone sat in the inside lane. and slow everyone down.

Thats just the problem ,most of them are sat there doing about 45 -50 mph ,which is basically a rolling roadblock to quicker moving trucks who can't use the third lane. As for other vehicles speeding, that is not your concern unless you are a police officer in a traffic car.
