Great idea, set up a feature that allows people* so send others* anonymous messages
*ok only one message so far, no doubt to be followed more more once I hit submit but really, what crap idea

If you're getting abusive comments via the Reputation system then PM/Email Simon/Shaun about it. From what I know, Administrators can see who left the reputation, and I think they can remove the info too. I'm not sure if moderators can see/modify them, if so then PM/Email a mod instead.

SS (ok not the best example in the world) made the point pretty well - people are putting in comments that they wouldnt have the guts/ill manners to write if it wasnt anonymous.
Webmaster preaches on about rules and policy then sets this up practically encouraging people to break the sodding rules and policy

It is a tricky thing. We want something to stop the trolls, and this does appear to help with that, but the flipside is that it can be abused to just leave offensive comments, rather than the purpose it was designed for, and from what I have seen, I do think it has actually caused a few people to be put on the global ignore list.
I've mentioned this abuse on the thread I've got going in policy about the feature, so hopefully we'll get some feedback.
My first thought was the comment part of the feature could be disabled, thus allowing only the rating to be submitted.

I like the idea of rating people, i like the idea that people can have some 'fun' with it but as ever there will be those that take it too far, get barred, then just set up a new account
