Have a look on the thread that SJ_Skline references, as Simon does make reference to this, as some of the multi-id types were giving each other a positive rating.

A few other things I've noticed:
If you go into your User CP and look at the reputation box (if you don't have one then you don't have any positive or negative reputation) then you'll see not only what posts have been "rated" but also, in the top right of the box, your current reputation points.
If you have a reputation entry, it'll show the post that was rated, click on it and it'll take you to that post. now, if you click on the reputation icon under your name for that post it will tell you what your reputation is for that post, the pos or neg reputation given to you for that post, plus the total number of reputation points you have.
