Default Free Banking

on the news about one of the big banks new plans to start charging customers for using a current account.

I`m not very bright.

i thought they made the cash from interest, we are kinda forced into having a bank account, and now we are forced to pay for the privilege of them keeping our money safe, will this result in more people keeping the cash under the mattress?>

at the moment i am paying around 60/month in bank charges for the business account which i am slowly reducing by paying for more things via cash and not cheques etc etc

i can see the same thing happening with current accounts as well TBH

But the people they want to charge are the dormant accounts or ones with not many transactions. Why do they want to charge them people?! They don't have to do any work on their accounts if they don't use them!!!

Anyone else see that fat biatch on TV this morning trying to justify why it takes banks 4 days to credit your account if you pay a cheque in, whereas in Sweden, it's apparently 2 hours?

They have chosen £1500 to be paid in each month because that is the minimum wage ...................

FirstDirect need to be given a wide berth .... Credit Cards are also about to charge too.
