Default Anyone recommend a good place to buy a bed?

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a new double bed and was just wondering whether anyone could suggest a good place to get a good one inexpensively. I would prefer a contemporary metal frame design.

Any guidance appreciated.

Search the net matey. I was after a super king with a tempor matress. I found the web to be the best place to get a decent price, then go to a store that price matches.

In the end, I brought a Flagstone Stone superking bedframe, and a tempor matress delux, plus tempora pillows from furniture village in Brighton for £2500. Yes, a lot of £££, but if you divide the life of the matress with cost, plus I love / need my sleep, its worthwhile.

Search the net, then go to a price match store.

As above, try your local bed shop. We got a nice bed and it was cheaper than on the net, including delivery and taking the old unit away.

Use the independants though.

Heli beds.

Seen enough adverts for them so they must be either good or desperate, but they guarantee same day delivery on your new bed.

Damn it, I'm to slow tonight. I was going to suggest Heli-beds.

I missed that advert when we moved from Wales back up North, that and the car craft one.

PM your budget and requirements (firm, medium, soft) and I'll advise. I'll arrange a viewing and demo in one of our showrooms and process the sale myself with a 10% discount code. Argos are fine if you're looking for a budget bed and don't need to test it and Heli-beds are the way forward for low-budget, low quality beds-in-a-hurry.

I'll arrange a 30 night trial for you so, should you not be happy with the mattress, you may exchange for any other mattress of your choice.

Think pocket sprung as a minimum, £269 (1000 spring) upto £1300 for the matt in a double and £250 + for a frame that's going to last more then 6 months. Classic and contemporary frames in wood, metal and leather as well as 12 months Interest Free Credit available.

(subject to status, quatations etc )

Hope we can help,

James

If you want a cheap one, try the Homeless Shelter ....

If it's Quality you want, then there aren't any cheap beds!!

2 things you should NEVER do on the cheap .... shoes and my bed - both have a direct impact upon your life!

Millbrook make very good kit. Bases are hardwood, glued and screwed and the sprung edges use actual pocket springs. Tempur make good quality memory foam matts but Sleepezee, Inner Wisdom and others now making comparable matts at a much more competitive price.

It'll be worth PMing EinsteinRA for a second opinion and a quote, he's a good egg and won't sell you cheap tat. Also worth having a look in Benson's; they're really struggling at the moment and will offer you some free kit, although they won't be able to match 10% discount.

Stop stealing my lines.....

Dreams Bed Superstore

This is a superbly comfortable, supportive bed and the one which I sleep in. With a Dunlopillo Celestial pillow, Lambswool protector and 9 tog goosedown and feather duvet I guarantee you it's money well spent. £1700 for this little lot in a king (without the headboard) and it will still be going stong in 10 years time. If you have 8 hours sleep and 16 days holiday per annum that's 28000 hours.

6p a night to wake up refreshed and happy is an absolute steal!

Don't worry Rich; it just proves that even trolls need a good nights sleep!

Pete is, of course, right. As is everyone else who has expressed similar sentiments! It's kinda like spending money on tyres- not a "sexy" purchase but very important none the less!!!

we used Buy furniture at furniture 123, inc. bedroom furniture, beds, mattresses, wardrobes, sofas. to buy a bed frame that would have cost £1300 from Dreambeds

Paid £279 but we had to wait 2 months for the stock to come in.

Apart from the wait which we were aware of I can't fault them

I like metal bedsteads as well. Used Dreams last year and they messed us around for 3 months before delivering. Unfortunately it was the only one wed liked since looking around so we were prepared to wait and take a discount.

Ive since found the bed online £80 cheaper than what we paid Dreams in their so called sale. Thing is they dont tell you the manufacturer.

Try here for a good selection with free UK delivery:

Bedworld bed Sale-Leather-Metal-Pine-Memory foam-Mattresses-Children's Bunk beds. .

I like several designs from Bentley:

When you buy your bed, make sure you budget for excellent quality pillows as well.

There is nothing like lying on a beautiful bed with your head on a pillow made of the finest down taken from the neck of wintering snow geese from the arctic steppes. Heaven indeed is made of snow goose down

Same here! Went to Drams last year, and after waiting for 5 weeks and 2 failed deliveries I saw them on Watchdog, twice! So got my money back quick sharp. Begrudgingly went to Helibeds (have you seen the advert on tv?) Helibeds Helibeds Helibeds. The actor barely remembering his lines "what was that name again? Helibeds they all shout!

Anyway, It's true what they say. If you order it by lunchtime they will deiver it by bedtime. Stonking deal on a bed frame and mattress, didn't think they would dleiver on the same day, but sure enough AND it was a Sunday! Helibeds are recommended A+
