Bank charges when abroad.

Bank charges when abroad.
Does anyone know the situation with this. Lloyds are saying that they charge 1.5% of cash withdrawn or card used to the max of £4.50. Does anyone know if this is the same for a credit card?
I don't really want to take lots of cash with me.. Just don't want those ******* banks having more of my money! last time it was away i had 24 tranactions. min fee is £2.00 so had £48 less for nothing!
