Default What have house prices in Surrey actually done in the last 18 months ?

Just curious, we bought our place in Chobham, Surrey about 18 months ago. Since then I have not really kept an eye on the housing market, mainly because we have no plans to move for at least 10 years.

Anyone have any ideas? Of course I could get it valued, but don't want to deal with estate agents.

I think prices have risen around 5% in last 18 months in the area, but just a guess.

But the link lower down in the thread (Property Price Advice - Property price valuations online&straight to your mobile) might be helpful.

OK cool thanks. Just done mine, paid £495,000 for it in April 2005 & its now (at the upper end) "worth" £620,000 !!!!

Not so sure about that but nice to see on screen !!

I would probably go by the Lower valuation (ie slow market, even though it isn't at the moment) where its value was £535,000

ignore that web site matey, seriously.... its probably worth £550k at the estate agents max but a sensible offer would probably not be TOO much more than you paid for it IMO. i.e. your slow market price being pretty fair

Mine's gone up by about 8% in the last 2 years, not taking in to account the double brick garage we've added in that time. But that's in the backwaters of Derbyshire

That site is a joke. The "average" value of the house I'm renting is apparently 1000 times the monthly rent and about 2.5 x its actual value.
