never laughed so much for ages, quallity program. the line by jim when he said "i bet his candle gave him wind" cracked me up. and nanas line about her hair looking like jeremy clarkson. sad when she died too, it was far more real than other program deaths.

What a cracking episode,me and the g/f were crying with laughter when Jim Royle cracked that joke about Elton John. Then later Miss Speye was crying with sadness when nanna popped it

Craig and Caroline work brilliantly together on this..Bring it back again we need more new episodes.

BBC1 now,We love the Royle family.

Fantastic! the first tv show or film to bring me to tears. reminded me of my mum and nan so much. fantastic acting. funny and touching at the same time. class.

I think it transcends class or socioeconomic status to a certain degree. The family dynamics will be identifiable to most people have have been brought up in a normal family.
