Punch Bag

Punch Bag
The kids got a small punch bag for Christmas, only about 2 ft high and about fifteen inches across but fairly weighty, just sat there since Christmas but they mithered so I hung it from the garage rafters, they havent really bothered but I just cant stop myself going in there to have a go.
Now I am no hard man but after a week of practice on that I cant half batter it and get a really satisfying thud from it, when I have the room I am going to get a proper one, apart from the exercise its so satisfying. It's a bit twisted but I couldnt help thinking of situation where my new found 'skills' could be put to use, not actually going to punch anybody but must confess to my mind wandering.
My back and shoulders have been aching like mad.

Yep nothing as frustrating as trying to explain fundamental IT concepts to a 55 year old HRT and Gin addled 20 stone office trout, thankfully not very often these days.

Good stuff, I have a speedball and a very, very heavy bag. I haven't used the heavy bag for about four months, and a few days ago gave it a decent right hook as I walked past it and literally gave myself whiplash in my neck for two days!
A good bag workout (once warmed up!!!!) in line with a cardio (skipping, ideally) is probably the best workout you can get. If you're enjoying it, embrace it and get a Lonsdale DVD showing you basic workout and technique.
Oh, and before you start calling yourself Charles Bronson and start cleaning up the streets, remember , punchbags don't punch back!

Deffo improves your reflex speed, upper body strength, and punching power.
I'll be able to take on one of the Scoobynet cage fighters any time soon
