Sunday Night - You'll be lucky, they stoped showing it on UKTV Gold, and haven't started showing it again despite the TV mags listing it.

We can hope I suppose.

And the show's executive producer had threatened to quit if he was told to curb the laddish emphasis on speed

Well done that man,

Its crass, stupid, irresponsible, un pc and dangerous but I will quit if I cant do it.

Get him a knighthood.

Sorry to pee on your chips but this is nothing more than a rumour put about by 'The Sun' newspaper of all sources.

All is says is Clarkson is doing some filming at Dunsfold. Hardly 'the return of Top Gear'

Until I see an official announcement directly from the BBC stating the date and time the first programme of the new series will be aired, as far as I'm concerned it remains axed.

Seems unlikely that they'll film a series that may be axed UB.

The new series was due to start this weekend. If it's not axed why don't they show it? Could it be because it's been axed?

Either they give people something to do or they will have lay them off/reassign them to other programmes I would guess. Once the team was broken up there really would be no way back.

Well if they've only just started filming, I'm guessing it's just not ready and this is a delay caused by them wanting to see what would happen after the crash.

I think the studio sections are done pretty close to air-time, and perhaps they had not filmed any of them at the time of Richard's crash, so they don't have a complete show to put out, just the pre-recorded segments, which would not make much sense without an introduction, plus I'm guessing JC and JM did not want to do the the studio sections without Richard until they knew how he was doing.

There is also the possibility that all of the pre-recorded stuff is not complete and that Richard might have been down to drive the lotus (an up-to-date shooting schedule might help here) but obviously he cannot do that now, so JC jumps in to do it.

As they know Richard is getting better they have probably discucssed with him wether he wants them to present the show without him, or if they will wait a few more weeks until he's in a position, if he's up to it, to appear in the studio.

I wonder if the crew of the Air ambulance will be appearing on the show? They could race the helicopter against a custom built ambulance around the track.

I see that people are keen to bash Unclebuck; but even if Top Gear does return, the points that he has made are valid. Who noticed that the BBC massaged the government's/TRL's figures in its story recently; quickly editing the '...under 5% of TRCs caused by speeding...' element? Perhps youve noticed that they always refer to distances in kilometres? Its the tip of the iceberg and 'Aunty Beeb' is long-gone.....

Could be, but that would be stupid, especially given that the blind are the people with their heads up their ***** - that's why they're blind.
