Who Has The OLDEST Mobile Phone Here?
And which is still in regular use ......
......I reckon I have - I think its about 10 years old, a Motorola MR30!!
It's on Conract to Orange and I get a monthly bill .... which averages 35p!!
I keep getting companies ringing me and telling me I can upgrade - FANTASTIC I say!!
They get all excited and start telling me about their £19:99 a month packages .... I interupt and say that I only pay about 35p a month now .... do they hear what I've said??
NO!! They just continue on - and on - and on ..... they actually fail to see that I would be worse off with them!!!
Even with such overwhelming odds they continue to try and get me to upgrade!! Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!
Braindead .............
So, anyone any older phone in regular use - I bet there isn't, you lot are gadget freaks!!

Got an old analogue Sony CM777 knocking about somewhere.
10 Hour battery life, those were the days
Should have read the title, this is certainly not in any use.

I have a Nokia - a 2210 I think- which I had installed in an old Jag' years ago, mostly as an emergency phone in case the meme sahib broke down. It's still there; we call it the brick. What was really funny to my kids is that when the car got broken into the ******* threw the phone back into the car Can still get batteries for it (just).
Note I still have a video recorder that you put actual videos in to record!! Look like a BBC camerman
You're just a kid in this respect Lewis

I've got a Motorola Startac flip analogue phone nestling somewhere in the cupborad. Superb phone - was actually smaller than the digital sucessors for quite some time (re: Dieseldog's nokia brick - had one, hated it - kept breaking, had rubbish reception, no battery life and was bloody huge ).
Still have my trusty old 8310 in use
Gave my 640 to a mate, but the battery died about 6months after. And I gave my old NEC (DB2000? ) away

I've got an excel M2 in the cupboard somewhere, came in its own plastic suitcase.... 'twas the first hand portable cellular mobile available in the UK in circa 1986. Will take a photo if I've got a camera in the car. Found this photo on google...

I still have my OKI 1130e analog phone, the first mobile I ever bought. However my first mobile phone was the size of a car battery with a handset and aerial on it.

My Dad still has one of the old phones that came with it's own car battery sized base that he used to keep on his boat. It certainly isn't getting used, but it's 20+ years old and is hernia material if you lift it too quickly!

Just a 6310 and a 7110 is it? the one used in the matrix o and an old 5110.
Not sure how you manage a bill for 35p Pete, we used to re-sell t-mobile and I was lucky enough to bag a deal with no line rental but still cost me a few quid a month.

My first mobile phone wasn't.................mobile, that is It was a Phillips carphone - bought second hand in 1991 I think.
Somewhere in a cupboard I'm sure I've still got my first GSM phone - an Ericsson GH388 (or is it GH338 - think it is). Got it in 1996 or thereabouts. Still works

I had a Nokia 8210 around 2000/2001 - that was my favourite phone by far, and I wish I still had it. It was small and easy to use. All the phones now seem bulky in comparison and have features I never use (camera etc). I've just had a new phone every year as I have renewed contracts, but I haven't like any of them much.
Is there anywhere I could pick one of these up fairly cheap?

you'd better remember to put the items in the right hand picture back as you found them- that might cause quite a shock when reached for, during a moment of passion, in the dark

Still, it must be worth it - ordering your replacement colostomy bags for just over a penny a day

I have 3 batteries for the phone - all 10 years old - all work perfectly!!
Whats the problem??
Orange wanted to keep me at the end of the £99 for 12 months offer in 1996 - so, they put me on the Virgin Offer (to match Virgin) ...... this is where I simply pay for calls ONLY.
Hence the 35p a month average - 2 texts and a short phone call - picking up my voicemail is free too!!
Best deal then, best deal now Why change??
