Beer/wine coolers

Beer/wine coolers
Just adding the finishing touches to my new kitchen. I'd really like a beer and wine cooler. Freestanding and full height would be nice, where I can keep a nice stock of international beers icey cold at all times! Wine aswell, but thats more for guests as I'm not a great wine drinker.
There seem to be some all singing all dancing ones but they are too expensive ie £600-£1500! And seem to be just wine coolers, not beer.
There are some commercial beer coolers I've found on the web but again quite pricey and only beer not wine
So what I need is a full height beer and wine cooler in one for a reasonable price. Any recommendations?
ps I don't keep rare/expensive wines so they just need to be kept chilled rather than preserved and the beer needs to be ICEY cold at all
times
pps are wine and beer coolers the same thing by different names, or do they have different temps etc?

I work for a brewery :-)
we are just in the process of buying some of these for out new in-house bar...
there is a catalouge lying about at work i had a look and they had deals where they would supply the cooler FULL OF BEER and the prices were VERY reasonable...
i`ll pop in tomorow and see if its still there and get the company name/website

I have just bought 2 full height wine cabinets from Costco for £299-99 + VAT each. The bottom shelves can be set to 5-12° C and the top shelves to
12-22° C. They are an absolute steal at that price.

I got a 100 quid Husky Stella fridge, fantastic, never get told off for overloading the fridge with Beer and find it warm on the side cos she has filled the main fridge with organic bollocks so there was no room.

I bought a Husky under counter (850 high) beer cooler - glass door, interior light, stella logo on glass.......replaces a std kitchen unit.
Its crap - doesn't get anywhere near cold enough......although the back wall of the fridge has ice on it, the bottles in it get moderately cold, nowhere near as cold as in our normal fridge.
I'm disappointed in it really, I bought it off ebay for £90 nearly new - I can why they were selling it now!

Mines has a Glass door, works fine. Ours was put into a cupboard unit, but there was no ventilation..unlike most fridges, the case is used as the evaporator so there is no rad at the back. So being enclosed in the cupboard unit just made it overheat.
Took it out cut some vent grilles in underneath and into the adjacent units, been fine ever since, infact it gets too cold

hmmmm - maybe I've got a crap one then - Genreic User - does yours get ice on the back wall?
I tried pulling it out away from from the wall slightly, as you can feel the warm air coming from around it - but its still poor....I don't think the insulation is very good on them.

Thanks, some excellent ideas.But;
The Samsung one has a setting for either red or white, so that means I can't use it for both? There is no dual function as far as I can tell
Kulekube looks a little small, not sure where I would put it ie it would look silly sitting on the floor and I can't use up work surface with it. I've left an area of the kitchen empty especially for this task! Also the spec says temp 5c at 25c ambient which means in summer when ambient is 30+ the internal temp will rise?
Scoobyme, that would be very helpful
Charles thats a really good price. I'll see if they still have them for sale. What is the optimum temp for beer ( but I like it really cold ) ie could the 5-12 c shelf be used for beer?
Thanks.

I bought them last week. The branch in Westhill near Aberdeen has quite a few in stock. I mentioned it to a friend in London. He had seen them for sale. So it is a current item. You will just have to check out if you can join.
5° C is the standard fridge setting, so I would think it should be OK for beer.
