Buying cars off Ebay
Ok i've just bought myself little runaround for 500 quid and hopefully i'm going to pick it up on Saturday.
The thing is its a W reg 106 with a suposedley 23k on the clock - now this seems like sale of the century, so alarm bells have been going off in my head or it could be a genuine bargain.
the guy has the log book and it had SH.
I'm going down to Southampton on saturday picking it up with a bankers draft.
if the guy has lied to me in any way about the sale can i back out of the sale.
Truth is i bidded my max expecting for it to go for a lot more, but i ended up winning it.
Advice please
Ta!

Ive brought cars from ebay. And as far as Im concerned, even if Ive won the auction, if I dont like the car, Im not having it. Also, £500 for a w reg 23K 106 ? Mmm sounds too good to be true mate. Did you get the number plate ? if so go to www.rac.co.uk to check the number of owners. Go to dvla.co.uk to see if its taxed / mot'd.
Perhaps a hpi check?
Mind you, if the travel to Southampton isn too far, then take a friend, go down and look at it. Do the usual checks, pedals, rubbers, mileage, rust, and other things to see if the condition of the car reflects the mileage. If you like it buy it, if not, then dont.
If you get poor feed back, then just create a new account.

Do hpi, ask specifically about mileage.
at 23k I expect it to be in almost mint condition. It shouldn't look like it's done 123k miles which it possibly has.

If the car is not as described then you can walk away, if the car is as described but you just don't fancy it any more then you can't just walk away, you have made a legally binding agreement. Whether anybody would actually persue you over it or not is another matter, you'd probably just get neg feedback
