Its a "coping" mechanism - if you left them, then its better that they feel themselves on the moral highground. One way of doing that is to make out that you are the cause of the split and therefore apply blame. In their mind, your being "a slag" fits that need.

i left him coz he cheated on me and i saw him last night in a bar whilst out with mates, he was tellin me how much he loved me and that he wanted me back and when i said i didn't want to get back with him ive moved on he and his mates started callin me a slag and a scrubber and **** like that, he was like jekyl and hyde!

On the contrary, my dads always been into racing and i learnt a lot from an early age and Two of my best friends are accomplished riders/trainers and own a few race horses between them.....don't always assume!
Agree though, most blokes don't know much past writing a ticket in William Hill

i no wot u mean, the minute i mention i have a horse they ask about it to seem interested but i spend more time explainin wot things than actually tellin them the story it can get annoyin at times but ive got used to it now, 2 of my ex's hadn't even seen a horse in the flesh until they met me
