You have to admit it takes some ***** to stand up there with that kind of audience. Personally I think he's done a good job and that is in spite of the people around him.

the usual utter crap lewis..
so it takes 9+ years to stand up to the unions
the only reason he did it is that he,s not going to be around next time!!!
Nl is bought and paid for by the unions, what he says only goes if they agree, he,s as much use as a sheep, no sorry sheep give you wool, he just gives us ticks

He stood up to the Unions many, many years ago ......... he won them round.
Maggie tried to destroy them - THATS the difference.

I have little time for TB as a Prime Minister; but he stands head and shoulders above the disloyal; self-serving, ungrateful rabble that make up his back benches. The worthless f*ckers would still be unelectable today without him.

Surley ScoobyNet is the membership, the posters? And here we are debating what the general feeling is of ScoobyNet and therefore, what the official line SHOULD be???
We are talking about political affiliations here ........ not some libel issue

Ultimately, it isn't. Take away the paid for hosting, time and effort put in by the powers that be behind the scenes and you have very little left. Without the infrastructure and effort put in by the chaps setting it up there would be no ScoobyNet. We just help it grow.
Think of the Webmasters as your loving Tony Blair, and you as one of the electorate. You probably now understand how most of us UK residents feel (Not that I think the mods and webmasters are doing such a half assed job of running this site )

I chose to watch his speech live on the BBC Paliament channel, hoping that he would get a rough ride from his adversaries... He didnt...
A few slightly simple working class union hecklers and grannies waving "Blair Out Now" pieces of A4 paper did not exactly challenge a man chosen by the nations simpletons to lead the 4th most powerful country in the world
The guy has been and always will be a weak leader, skulking in the shadow of Mr Bush... Thatcher stood up the unions almost immediately on coming to power, but I suspect wont be on old man Lewis' xmas card list
Anyhoo, nice to see you back PSL, its been quiet recently (except the racism week - which was nice )

I have always praised the way the site is run and what the mods do - but in this case, you must agree, it's been taken a bit too far to remove my statement, "ScoobyNet Salutes You" ......... who, in their right mind, is going to think that is ScoobyNets Official Line?? - not sure what the official political affiliation is of ScoobyNet??? Anyone know?

I agree that Maggie did try to destroy the Unions, but Blair has just completed what she started (and in so many other ways too).
To say he won them round, shows how brittle your grasp on reality is - the truth is that he offered false hope, got elected on that falsehood, and then proceeded to shaft every member of every union.

Pete, I'm sure that if you had seen the light ( ) and made some blanket comment on Scoobynet's behalf towards the Tory party, you'd have met with the same outcome, and similar for any other party.
It is good to see you back though livening the place up again
