son kicked dog in the eye..
he didnt mean to, she was behind a curtain. it happened yesterday and at the time her eye was smarting and she couldnt open it properly, she was also pawing at her ear
this morning i got up and her eye was a bit weepy with some yello goo. i cant see any obvious damage but its watering like mad, especially when she is out in the sun. i rang the vets yesterday and was told to bring her down. a consultation fee for out of hours is £87 i decided to wait till today to see how it is. i could wait till tomorrow and go to the vets, but i am concerned as eyes are very delicate. she doesnt seem to be in pain, just discomfort i think.
what should i do?
if the vets didnt charge would they have still suggested i take her to them?

Stop talking about it and get down the vets.
I'm sure if someone kicked you in the eye and it was oozing puss you would want it looked at whatever the cost.

Just take the animal to the vets and stop wasting time on here. If you have a pet and its injured/in distress you don't faff about wondering what to do, you be safe rather than sorry later and go and get it checked, especially with something as delicate as an eye injury. Sod the money, as a pet owner its your responsibility to take the best care of your pet, not to let it suffer.

£162!!! Did they perform some intricate microsurgery? I know money is no use and cannot replace loved pets but still I think the vets are exploiting people's emotive generosity. I would take out some form of insurance if I was you Sara.

i meant £142, was still a lot though
it worked out at nearly £90 for the emergency consultation. we have got some oral and topical antibiotics and a wash...and i had to buy little un a teddy.
last week the dog had to have all of her milk teeth out because she had 2 sets of teeth and now this, the insurance is going to love me

Do you already have insurance? Or do you mean if you had insurance they would love you? You could always offer to respray his car in lieu!

i already have insurance maz
i looked in her eys to see if a lash was in there and couldnt see anything. its not that easy to do anything to a dog that weighs 2.5lb. maybe they lied to me
btw i am now a professional paint sprayer

Alls well that ends well. So when are you going to open your own bodyshop up?
