Unhappy son kicked dog in the eye..

he didnt mean to, she was behind a curtain. it happened yesterday and at the time her eye was smarting and she couldnt open it properly, she was also pawing at her ear

this morning i got up and her eye was a bit weepy with some yello goo. i cant see any obvious damage but its watering like mad, especially when she is out in the sun. i rang the vets yesterday and was told to bring her down. a consultation fee for out of hours is £87 i decided to wait till today to see how it is. i could wait till tomorrow and go to the vets, but i am concerned as eyes are very delicate. she doesnt seem to be in pain, just discomfort i think.

what should i do?

if the vets didnt charge would they have still suggested i take her to them?

Take it to the vets now. Is the money really an issue. It would not be for me, i would pay the money just to get some pain relief for my pet and an expert opinion.

the PDSA are for people on benefits. the money isnt a problem, but i wondered if the vets would have told me to take her in if it was free

my son thought the door was closed and kicked the curtain and fell on his **** as he went straight through

Stop talking about it and get down the vets.

I'm sure if someone kicked you in the eye and it was oozing puss you would want it looked at whatever the cost.

Too right. You wouldn't live with the discomfort you'd go to the doctors. Get her to the vet.

£162!!! Did they perform some intricate microsurgery? I know money is no use and cannot replace loved pets but still I think the vets are exploiting people's emotive generosity. I would take out some form of insurance if I was you Sara.

i meant £142, was still a lot though

it worked out at nearly £90 for the emergency consultation. we have got some oral and topical antibiotics and a wash...and i had to buy little un a teddy.
last week the dog had to have all of her milk teeth out because she had 2 sets of teeth and now this, the insurance is going to love me

£142 eeks-for that you could have pulled eyelash out yourself and with money saved paid a professional to have sprayed your front bumper

Do you already have insurance? Or do you mean if you had insurance they would love you? You could always offer to respray his car in lieu!

i looked in her eys to see if a lash was in there and couldnt see anything. its not that easy to do anything to a dog that weighs 2.5lb. maybe they lied to me

btw i am now a professional paint sprayer
